Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake (A Lockhart Family Recipe)

Ingredients:
1 3/4 Cups Boiling Water
1 Cup Quick Cooking Oats
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup White Sugar
1 Stick Butter
2 Eggs
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Tablespoon Cocoa
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 3/4 Cups Flour
1 12 oz bag Chocolate Chips
3/4 Cup Nuts for Topping

Process:
Mix Boiling Water and Oats and let stand; Add Brown Sugar, White Sugar, and Butter. Stir until Butter is melted; add the Eggs. Sift together the Baking Soda, Cocoa, salt, and Flour and add to batter. Add 1/2 of the Chocolate Chips to the batter.

Pour batter into 9x13 pan and sprinkle the remaining Chocolate chips and Nuts over top.

Bake at 350 Degrees for 40 minutes.
