Sugar Drops

Serves 6-8

2/3 Cup Shortening
3/4 Cup Sugar
1 Individual Egg
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 1/2 Cups Flour
1 1/2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
4 Teaspoons Milk
1/2 Cup Chopped Nuts (Optional)
1/2 Cup Raisins

Preheat oven to 375° for shiny cookies - 350° for dark cookies. Grease cookie sheet lightly. Cream shortening and sugar and add egg and vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Add milk to creamed sugar. Add flour mixture to creamed sugar. Add nuts and raisins to the mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
